Frequently asked questions

How do I make an appointment?

Appointments can be made by ringing our receptionists on 01889 500448 or by emailing villagechiroclinic@gmail.com.

We operate a booking system for all practitioners. We do try as far as possible to run on time. Please help us by not being late for your appointment and be understanding when someone very acute may take longer than usual.

It is advisable for new patient appointments to arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointment time to complete your new patient paperwork.

Please note there is a charge of £20 for missed appointments if not cancelled 24 hours before. Please phone if you are unable to make your appointment time, so we can give that space to someone in need.

Is Chiropractic a regulated profession?

Yes.

The General Chiropractic Council (GCC) regulates all chiropractors in the UK to ensure the safety of patients undergoing chiropractic treatment.

The GCC is an independent statutory body established by Parliament to regulate the chiropractic profession. They protect the health and safety of the public by ensuring high standards of practice in the chiropractic profession.

The title of 'chiropractor' is protected by law and it is a criminal offence for anyone to describe themselves as any sort of chiropractor without being registered with the GCC.  The GCC check that all chiropractors are properly qualified and are fit to practice.

All Chiropractors at Village Chiropractic Clinic are fully registered with the GCC.

What is the British Chiropractic Association?

The British Chiropractic Association (BCA) is the largest and longest-standing association for chiropractors in the UK.  It was founded in 1925 and has a membership comprising over 50% of the UK’s registered chiropractors. The BCA only accepts members who have graduated from a nationally or internationally-recognised college of chiropractic education, after a minimum of four years full-time training and ensures its chiropractors maintain high standards of conduct, practice, education and training.

The BCA was a founder member of the European Chiropractors Union and the World Federation of Chiropractic.  All BCA members are covered by a high quality professional indemnity insurance and the Association operates a robust professional standards and complaints management process.

All our Chiropractors at Village Chiropractic Clinic are members of the British Chiropractic Association.
